Motorist Flees Scene After Hitting Woman In Jefferson Valley, Police Say

A Jefferson Valley man was arrested and charged Monday afternoon after Yorktown police say he hit a pedestrian at 3651 Lee Blvd. and then intentionally left the scene. Police said the victim sustained a physical injury and that Almuher intentionally fled following the accident.

Teen Arrested For Assault After Fight At Club Fit

A 19-year-old Mohegan Lake man was arrested and charged with assault after Yorktown Police responded to an altercation at Club Fit in Jefferson Valley on May 5. Sean Chatman was charged with assault in the third degree, a Class A misdemeanor, after police say he assaulted another individual, causing injuries.

Peekskill Teen Repeatedly Punches Girl In Face In JV Mall Brawl, Police Say

A 14-year-old boy was charged following an altercation at Jefferson Valley Mall where Yorktown Police say he allegedly repeatedly punched a 15-year-old girl in the face and arm Sunday. The teen, a Peekskill resident whose identity was not released, was charged with juvenile delinquency with the underlying charge of attempted assault in the third degree.

The flurry of state and local police activity during the day Tuesday on the Jefferson Valley/Shrub Oak Route 6 corridor was the result of a search for evidence in the murder last Thursday of a 75-year-old Mahopac woman in the latest chain of events in the case, according to multiple sources. Investigators searched a wooded area off Route 6, some of whom were wearing plastic gloves and placing an unidentified object, possibly a murder weapon.

The flurry of state and local police activity during the day Tuesday on the Jefferson Valley/Shrub Oak Route 6 corridor was the result of a search for evidence in the murder last Thursday of a 75-year-old Mahopac woman in the latest chain of events in the case, according to multiple sources. Investigators searched a wooded area off Route 6, some of whom were wearing plastic gloves and placing an unidentified object, possibly a murder weapon, in a box, according to News 12. The Yorktown Police Department said during the search that residents should not be alarmed, but have not yet disclosed the reason for the enhanced presence of state and local police in the area.
