Teen Charged With Stealing Eye Drops From Taconic Pharmacy

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. A 16-year-old Mohegan Lake resident, whose name is being withheld due to eligibility for youthful offender status, has been charged with petit larceny after attempting to steal Visine eye drops from Taconic Pharmacy in Jefferson Valley on Tuesday, Dec. 23. Police said they received a call regarding a shoplifting complaint and were dispatched to the pharmacy. After an investigation, police found that a 16-year-old male stole a bottle of Visine eye drops valued at $6.19.

Peekskill Man Charged With Petty Larceny In Yorktown

Yorktown Police charged a Peekskill man with petty larceny on Nov. 19 after he allegedly stole items from the Sears store at the Jefferson Valley Mall, according to police officials. Kevin Olsen, 29, of Peekskill allegedly stole a pair of headphones and a bolt cutter valued at $71.98, police said.

Yorktown's Jefferson Valley Mall Hosting 'Holiday Mail For Heroes' Event

YORKTOWN, N.Y. The American Red Cross and Jefferson Valley Mall are asking local residents to help spread holiday cheer to military members who can't be with their families this holiday season by sending them cards through the Holiday Mail for Heroes program. The mall in Yorktown Heights will host a signing event in its center court on Dec. 6 from 12 p.m. 4 p.m. "It just takes a moment to sign a card and share your appreciation for the sacrifices made by members of the military and veteran community," said Mary Young, chief executive officer of the Red Cross Metro New York North chapter.

Yorktown Police Charge Mahopac Man With Cellphone Theft

YORKTOWN, N.Y. Yorktown police officers recently arrested a 20-year-old Mahopac man on a charge of possessing a cellphone stolen from Cortlandt town government officials. About 2:50 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, police officers stopped the man in the Jefferson Valley area of Yorktown for an alleged traffic violation.
