Yorktown residents will have a chance to meet with their police officers and enjoy a cup of coffee next week. "Coffee With A Cop" will be held on Friday, Oct .27 at JV Hot Bagels in Jefferson Valley from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and Saturday, Oct. 28 at 7-11 in Yorktown Heights from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. United for the Troops will also be on hand collecting donations.

Macy's Employee From Ossining Stole Thousands From Store, Police Say
A 30-year-old employee was arrested and charged with stealing thousands in cash from Macy's at the Jefferson Valley Mall. Latierre Valentine of Ossining was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a Class E felony.

Yorktown Opening Indoor Farmers Market
The Yorktown Farmers Market will be running its winter farmers market starting Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Jefferson Valley Mall. The farmers market will be indoors at the mall until March 31. Non-holiday hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., while holiday hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. "Almost all of our vendors are following us inside," Karen Muendell, a chef who helped bring the farmers market back to Yorktown, said.

Jefferson Valley Woman Interferes With Investigation, Police Say
A 25-year-old Jefferson Valley resident was arrested last week after police say she gave them a fake name while interfering with a police investigation in the DeCicco's Supermarket parking lot. Shamecca Thornton was charged with false personation, a Class B misdemeanor and obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
