DeCicco & Sons Shares Grand Opening with New Pharmacy

Woman, 78, Charged In Theft From Jefferson Valley Mall
A 78-year-old Connecticut woman is facing a shoplifting charge after police said she switched price tags on items to pay a lower price at Sears at the Jefferson Valley Mall, then left the store without paying for a bracelet. Elvira Cicale of New Fairfield, Conn., is charged with misdemeanor petit larceny after being stopped by store security, police said.

Lake Mohegan Fire, Yorktown Police Win Fitness Contest
The Lake Mohegan Fire Department and Yorktown Police Department are the winners in the 2015 Chief's Challenge for Fitness Jefferson Valley contest. The Challenge was designed by cardiologists at Phelps Hospital to improve the health and fitness of police and fire personnel by encouraging them to adopt an active and healthy lifestyle, said the announcement.

Yorktown police have charged a 29-year-old resident of Mahopac with driving while his ability was impaired by drugs, along with multiple other offenses, following a traffic stop in Jefferson Valley. The arrest came about after two officers assigned to narcotics enforcement observed a grey 2001 Subaru operating at a high rate of speed and failing to maintain a designated lane on East Main Street on Thursday, June 2, at approximately 11:30 p.m., police report.
