Teens From Cortlandt, Yorktown Charged In JV Mall Incident

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. A 17-year-old Yorktown male and an 18-year-old Cortlandt male whose names are being withheld due to their possible eligibility for youthful offender status have been charged with criminal possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor on Thursday, Feb. 12, according to Yorktown police. Police said an officer was investigating a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot of Jefferson Valley Mall when he observed the male youths in a gray 2005 Toyota openly smoking marijuana.

Yorktown Residents Lament Closing Of Radio Shack

Two of the locations are in Yorktown, one at the Triangle Shopping Center and the other at Jefferson Valley Mall. The Triangle Shopping Center store is expected to close Feb. 28. Both stores had signs announcing their closure and merchandise was being heavily discounted.

Yorktown Town Council Candidate Brackett Urges JV Mall Owners To Renovate

Rosanne Brackett, a candidate for Yorktown Town Council, urged WP Glimcher, new owner of the Jefferson Valley Mall, to follow through with long-delayed renovation plans in a Change.org petition circulating through the area. The renovations were approved by the Town Council two years ago at the request of previous owner Simon Properties, who subsequently spun the property off to WP Glimcher.

Croton Resident Charged With Illegal Drug Possession

Local and county police were conducting surveillance at the Jefferson Valley Mall when they allegedly observed Adam Kluge, 34, smoking marijuana. Subsequent investigation revealed Kluge was in possession of Alprazolam, a controlled substance, police said.
