Owner Says 'Substantial Doubt' Sears, Kmart Will Stay In Business

As their stock prices continue to dip, the corporate owner of Sears and Kmart is questioning whether or not the two chains can continue their traditional brick-and-mortar operating model as shoppers continue to utilize e-commerce services. According to multiple reports , on Tuesday, Sears Holding Corporation said that there was "substantial doubt" that it can continue its current services, citing efforts to cut costs, sell property and find new revenue sources as the companies continue bleeding money.

Two Westchester Residents Steal Thousands In Beauty Products, Police Say

Two women from Yonkers were arrested in Yorktown for attempting to steal thousands of dollars worth of beauty products from a story at the Jefferson Valley Mall. On Wednesday, the Yorktown Police Department announced that of 28-year-old Destiny Charnay Hudson and 26-year-old Lawren Turner Jackson are facing felony grand larceny charges for helping to steal $2,112 in merchandise from Ulta Beauty at the mall.

Police: Teen Steals Chocolate Chip Cake From Jefferson Valley Mall Store

A Yorktown teenager was arrested on a felony burglary charge after being busted sneaking into the Jefferson Valley Mall and allegedly stealing a chocolate chip cookie cake. The Yorktown Police Department announced Wednesday the arrest of 17-year-old Kristian Singh, who was charged following a police investigation that determined he snuck into the Great American Cookies Kiosk and stole the baked good last week.

Walter Panas Bowler Wins State Championship

Perrone, a sophomore at Walter Panas High School, was the top individual bowler at the New York State High School Championships in Rochester, knocking down 1392 pins over six games. Perrone had the highest regular season average in the state with a score of 238.

Peekskill Woman Scares, Scratches Child, Yorktown Police Say

A 29-year-old Peekskill mom is facing charges of child endangerment after she was accused of chastising an 8-year-old Yorktown boy, police said. Tiffany Costa turned herself in and was arrested at police headquarters in Yorktown on Tuesday, Feb. 28, in connection with an incident in Jefferson Valley the week before, police said.
